In all amateur football teams, team nights are probably the most anticipated events. With a cold drink you can reflect on the last games, the best goals or the biggest mistakes of the last few weeks.

These nights are often associated with activities. You can go bowling, bowling, climbing or just eat. At the same time, it is often unimaginable what all this could be like for professional football players. There are also regular evenings together in this group. Recently, these have repeatedly come to light, especially with the national team – sometimes with strange scenes.

The newspaper “Bild” reported that Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz was late for the bus departure for their night together during the international break in March. Precisely because the DFB stars are in the public eye, a great deal of secrecy is kept about their joint activities. Now, the tabloid media has once again reported on a DFB team night where a lot went wrong.

So, on Thursday, the national players went to an Italian steakhouse in Frankfurt, recommended by Eintracht goalkeeper Kevin Trapp. The professionals spent around two and a half hours there with loud music and apparently in a good mood.

DFB team: Qunitett wants to leave the team at night with a taxi

When the team bus arrived to pick up the stars, according to “Bild” Niklas Süle, Jonathan Tah, Pascal Groß, Jonas Hofmann and Robert Andrich left the restaurant but took a waiting taxi. It’s unclear why the Stars wanted to travel with him and not the bus and the rest of the players. But instead of starting to move, the car alarm suddenly went off.

The driver was unable to turn off the unpleasant sound for several minutes, which is why even curious residents came out of their homes and watched and filmed the scene. Ultimately, the taxi driver even opened the hood to control the alarm system, but initially to no avail. The DFB five stars got out of the taxi and returned to the restaurant.

Shortly afterwards, the rest of the stars boarded the DFB bus and took photos with the fans beforehand. However, when the team bus left at around 11:30 am, it had only moved about 200 meters before even making an emergency stop, according to the newspaper “Bild”. The association’s security officer came down, put his cell phone to his ear and made a call.

The reason: the original taxi gang around Süle, Tah, Groß, Hofmann and Andrich were still in the restaurant and were apparently forgotten when they left. In the end, however, the quintet also started to return to the team hotel, so that coach Julian Nagelsmann can count on all the players invited for the games with Turkey (Saturday, 8:45 pm) and Austria (Tuesday, 8:45 pm ). .

Finally, there was a sense of achievement again for 1. FC Köln: coach Steffen Baumgart’s team won 8-0 in the friendly against higher division SpVg Porz on Wednesday. Instead of regular players, several regular reservists were able to demonstrate their performance. With some success.
