Last week, Joko and Klaas took advantage of the airtime they gained to start a spectacular treasure hunt: every day the two presented a puzzle, the solution to which revealed part of the coordinates. The big solution came on Tuesday: viewer Tobias found the suitcase of money in Saxony and promptly traveled with Joko to Berlin, where Klaas was already waiting for him on “Late Night Berlin”.
The grand finale brought a big twist, as Tobias didn’t solve the puzzle alone. Instead, he got clues from a Twitch star’s streams. This is now seen very differently on social media.
I won a million thanks to Papaplatte
Streamer Papaplatte also followed the treasure hunt, which can currently be seen on “7 vs. Along with his community, he did detective work on his streams. In the end, Tobias benefited from this, who, alongside Joko, openly admitted that he owes the windfall mainly to Papaplatte.

From day one, Papaplatte was behind the big mystery, and on Tuesday night he even joined “Late Night Berlin”. His clear reaction: He’s happy for Tobias and extremely proud that one of his fans made it.
The fact that a wide-reaching streamer was involved in the treasure hunt was met with criticism from the start. With tens of thousands of people helping with the live stream, solving the puzzles is simply too easy, they repeatedly complained in the chat.
All appeal of the action was lost on them. Furthermore, it increased the likelihood that the million would end up going to a person who had little or no personal involvement with the puzzles.
So Tobias basically got the money as a gift – at least that’s one interpretation of the story now. For example, on X (formerly Twitter) a user writes: “Because someone made a million from a streamer that would otherwise have been given to someone who could solve the problem themselves.” In other places you can even read:
“The biggest fraud in TV history.”
The winner of the million was twice as lucky
There is another factor that is bothering this user: Tobias lives just ten minutes away from where the suitcase of money was, so he has had a peaceful life both ways.
Anyone who had the solution ready but had to travel from the south or west was at an overall disadvantage. “Other participants from Germany with long distances had no chance of getting there faster than him,” says X.
But many others don’t see it so closely and celebrate Tobias. For example, a user believes that some people are simply jealous. “We live in 2023, the Internet will always be ten steps ahead of you, viewers. Cry (…) into your pillow and keep showing your true colors when it comes to things like this“, can be read on social media. Another fan expresses himself diplomatically:
“Yes, it would have been better if someone had solved it themselves. But I still think it’s crazy when tens of thousands of people get together and someone is lucky enough to find the suitcase.”
One thing is certain: Papaplatte is proud of their community and Joko and Klaas are also happy for Tobias. It was probably clear from the beginning that luck would eventually play an important role.
