FC Bayern is looking for defensive reinforcements in the winter. To finance this desire, two stars could soon leave the record champions.

Munich – Maintaining its own image, FC Bayern is slowly but surely returning to the top of the table. And so far everything in the Champions League is going according to plan. The only downside in Bayern’s current sporting world is their elimination in the second round of the DFB Cup. The bitter knockout was made worse by the fact that Matthijs de Ligt was substituted after 25 minutes due to a torn medial ligament.

Bayern’s defense, which was already weak, became even weaker. This should change during the winter break with external reinforcements. These could also be financed through the sale of second row players.

Permanent reservist and Lewandowski replacement could leave FC Bayern

According to information, the two players that FC Bayern would not put obstacles in their way are: Photograph around Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Bouna Sarr. Choupo-Moting, who surprised as Lewandowski’s replacement last year, had his contract extended for a further year to June 2024 in March and is now allowed to leave.

The situation is completely different for Sarr, who received a four-year contract from then sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic in 2020. The Senegalese international never managed to impress in an FCB shirt and at times was completely left out. Two long stops did the rest.

Last chance to transfer to Bayern

It appears certain that neither will be offered a new contract. This would mean the stars’ free transfer next summer would be sealed and Bayern would be left with no transfer fee. The last chance to generate income with Sarr and Choupo-Moting is the upcoming winter transfer period.

Furthermore, the record champions would save a good salary. Choupo-Moting’s salary reportedly increased to €10 million, including bonus payments, when he was extended. Bouna Sarr is said to earn three million euros a year. If both leave the club in the winter, the combined salary savings alone would mean a “profit” of up to 6.5 million euros for FCB.

Bayern needs money for defensive additions

FCB sporting director Christoph Freund is in dire need of money because, according to him, they are working on new additions to three positions. The six, the central defense and also the right-back position should be reinforced. An ad that only at second glance shows how dissatisfied people apparently are with Bouna Sarr. His regular position is right-back.

Choupo-Moting, on the other hand, is well respected at Säbener Straße, but behind star Harry Kane and youngster Mathys Tel, he is only number three in Bayern’s attack. As Photograph Reportedly, a potential buyer had already knocked on the door, but Eintracht Frankfurt refrained. The reason: the striker’s huge salary. (sh)
